Brian and I did buy out another ranch that ran in-common with us on the BLM. Now we can increase our herd size, slowly, but still have the ability to do so. That puts the users down to just three on the spring and winter ranges, Brian’s brother and a smaller outfit that runs with us on our summer.
As I look around my house I get the feeling of animal house. A cat had five kittens about 3 weeks ago and this week our other cat had five kittens and the same night my toy aussie had two pups, and right now they are inside the house, these are outdoor cats!! They seem to have taken to the indoor life to easily.
The new house is still in the planning stages. We just haven’t had time to work on it. Maybe next week. We are supposed to have the footings and foundation work done by Memorial weekend and start framing June 1st, so better get with it.
The cowcamp is almost up and running for the year. I did get up there to clean the main living spaces, now just need to activate the water and gas lines. I just can’t wait to go up there and stay a few days.
Hope that your spring is going well and I will talk to you soon……
Pictures are of turn out day. The first day was cold and blistery, the second day was very pleasant. Herd day one, Dad and Son; day two going through the gate Brian on Sleeper, Bryce on Levi, motherin’ up and the end of the day.
