Stephen & Sarah Damele
Mountain Home, Idaho
Ditto Creek Ranch was established in 2004. Steve is a 5th generation rancher from Nevada and Idaho. Steve’s parents created Ditto Creek Ranch in 2004. Shortly after Steve Sr. passed away, Steve & Sarah purchased the remaining 2/3 of the ranch from Steve’s sisters. We pride ourselves in the succession of our “FAMILY” ranch. Being able to raise our children this way means everything to us. We have a little school on the ranch that we love and teach our children there. Steve’s mom, Polly is still with us on the ranch and is currently enjoying her relaxation and retirement.
A key, vital to the ranch’s success in operating, is low cost. There is no farm ground and irrigating, thus minimal need for tractors and equipment because of good winter range. This winter range is also used by thousands of deer and elk.
A good winter range also means probable fire hazard in the summer months. To mitigate fire threat we are actively involved in the local RFPA (Rural Fire Protection Association). We also have an aggressive range restoration program with NRCS and are ready to reseed the range when the next fire comes.
